I wonder...

*Why a hot shower feels so good after a long, sweaty run. Shouldn't a cold shower feel better? No one, on a hot summer day, ever thinks, "Man, I could really go for a dip in a nice steamy pool right now." Why doesn't the same apply to showering post run?

*Why am I SO much better at running on a treadmill? I love the fresh air outside, and the changing view, but I am just not great at keeping a consistent pace when I'm in the great outdoors. Perhaps it's because I can watch TV when running on a treadmill, which feeds my addiction to bad television...

*WHY am I so addicted to bad, bad television? If it's reality, I'll probably love it. Real Housewives? I could tell you almost anything about the OC, Beverly Hills, and NYC cast. The Bachelor? Bring it on. Bethenny? Getting Married or Ever After, I'll tune in. The Kardashians? I'll watch no matter what city they're running around. Pawn Stars? American Pickers? Deadliest Catch? Kendra? Holly's World? My reality television watching has very few limits. I'm shameless. With the exception of VH1 shows, if it's reality TV, I'll probably sit through an episode or 2.

*Why is it when Will is out of town, I become an insomniac? When he is home, we're in bed by 10 and I'm dead to the world shortly after. When he's gone and I'm all by my lonesome, I have to FORCE myself to put my book down or turn the TV off at midnight so I can function the next day. Weird.

*Why, when Will is in town, do I stress about making a nice dinner for the two of us (nice may be a stretch) yet feel it's perfectly acceptable to eat the following "entrees" for dinner when home alone:
-Cocoa Pebbles
-CousCous
-Popcorn
-Oreos
-Yes, those have seriously been my dinners this week. Again, I'm shameless.

*Why am I not craving Girl Scout cookies like I used to? We have boxes and boxes of them in our freezer/pantry...and I go out and buy Oreos.

*Why has Taylor Swift's song "Mean" stuck in my head for the past few days?

*Why do I love to travel so much, yet HATE packing? I'll do anything to postpone packing. I've known all week that I leave tomorrow for Tampa. Have I packed yet? No. So far tonight, in an effort to avoid packing, I've:
-Checked email (15 minutes after checking it before I left work for the night)
-Checked in for our flight tomorrow
-Checked the weather in Nashville tomorrow
-Checked the weather in Tampa for the weekend
-Checked the weather in Nashville for Sunday
-Watched the news
-Did 2 loads of laundry
-Ran 8 miles
-Talked to Will
-Took a nice hot shower
-Am writing a blog.

*Why is it that Pioneer Woman's blog is so darn popular? My friend at work told me today that she is getting her own cooking show. She already has a cookbook as well as a novel published, she has a movie about her life in the works (with Reese Witherspoon set to play the lead role), she is loved and adored by everyone, and why? Because she blogs. This is not an attack on Ree. I personally adore her. She's funny, and clever, and catchy, and I feel so invested in her life on the ranch. But how did she become so popular? If only I had cute kids, funny dogs, a husband who looks good in a cowboy hat, wit, charm, and an urge to post something witty and charming everyday- I'm sure I could become that popular.

*Why did the last optometrist I saw get my eye prescription so horribly wrong? I have been having trouble focusing on close up objects, I'd get dizzy when I first put in my contacts, and have just in general been having a rough time with my eyes lately. I saw a doctor today and it turns out my contacts were WAY too powerful. 5 "clicks" too powerful in my left eye and 2 "clicks" too powerful in my right. (A "click" is apparently .25 degrees different. The prescription I have been wearing was -5.5 in my left eye and -4.5 in my right. The contacts I'm currently wearing are -4 in my right eye and -3.75 in my left.) Imagine not needing glasses and trying on a pair of someone who has to wear them. You know that dizzy feeling you get? Yeah, that's been me for the past year. I hope we got the problem resolved! 9 hours later, I am having a grand ol' time with my new pair of eyes.

*Why did I ever download Angry Birds onto my iPad? (See Insomnia rant earlier)

*Why won't my brother and sister-in-law tell me the name of my niece? I hope they don't make us wait until she's here!

*Why is it almost 10:00 PM and I'm still sitting at the computer with wet hair, wet clothes that need to be put in the dryer and a bag that STILL needs to be packed?

You are very witty, smart and beautiful. it's all Will's fault. He just doesn't pull off the cowboy hat!
I go through the same insomnia when Ryan's gone -hate it.
Have a great trip-assuming you packed??

Ah, well thanks Jess!
You're lucky- you have a cute baby, funny pups (well, when they aren't waking up the cute baby!), and I'm sure Ryan looks great in a cowboy hat.
I packed, and was in bed by midnight. Not too shabby! Have a great weekend!

A niece's name would be so wonderful...they are just too stubborn to share it with us.
